Instructions for the application of gold and platinum preparations
The gold and platinum preparations are in principle the solutions of organic metals compounds in thinners, with the admixture of varnishes and other additives, that guarantee the tenacity of the preparation on decorated surface.
Viscosity of fluid gold and platinum
By the opening of the bottle, the fluid gold and platinum have the viscosity appropriate for direct utilization. The viscosity raises very quickly owing to the desiccation of the solution however, especially at the work in warm and dry environment, seeing that the preparations contain definite part of volatile components. It is not good to pour the solutions of the preparations to the pallets, but it is better to pour off scantling to the cup, whereof this quantity will be consumed within 30 minutes perhaps. The quantity of the preparation poured off to the cup depends on the decorating mode and on the technique of the painter work. At the decoration of cambered surfaces and at the decorating, where it could reach the running down of the preparation applied, it is needed the higher viscosity. That is why the solution of the preparation is hold dry up a little. At the decoration from free hand and at hand lining, it is necessery to use the solution with lower viscosity on the contrary. For that purpose, the decoraters adjust the precious metals preparations by thinners. On principle, it is possible to say, the preparations can be applied in equable layer. As far as the solution of preparations dry-up, it is necessary to dilute its to the viscosity appropriate, which every decorater performs by himself according to his experience.
