The stove fitter glazes are raw colourless lustrous transparent highly leaded glazes with the content of PbO 60-75% of the mass. This glazes are lowly chemically resistant and it is not possible in any case to use these for the production of kitchenware, incoming into contact with foodstuffs.
They are determined for the application at decorative low-burnt ceramics, above all for the production of stove fitter goods - stove-tiles, because they have unexceptionable ability for detailed design on very complex and fine reliefs also. The hue intensity of this glazes changes with the layer thickness, whereby it reaches the very effective „shading“ of the broken relief.
They are highly transparent (except 0 827 91) and theirs colour shade is very hard affected by body colour. On that ground, it is better to use them for white-burny body mass with high thermal expansivity coefficient a > 75.10-7 K-1. On common body mass, they crackle hard as a rule. The glazes are designed for low firing temperatures of 880-940°C. It is possible to fire till 980°C, but on this temperature they flow off very hard or they infiltrate to the body.
With regard to the content of free toxic red lead, it is necessary to abide by all hygiene regulations at work with thes glazes. Above all, to hedge against aspiration of the dust or swallow!
They are suitable for all glazing techniques.
